By activating this option you provide additional protection for your users. This feature fights brute-force attacks by blocking the IP address after it reaches the maximum allowed retries.
Example: If a user wants to log in to an account, if they do not succeed in the first three attempts, they will be blocked for a number of hours. You can also add certain IPs to a black list, this means they will never be able to login by using that IP.
To activate this option, go to UMP Dashboard -> Extensions -> Security Login. Here you will be able to edit the number of retries, the duration of the lock time, the maximum number of locks etc. You can also set up the messages for a failed login attempt, locked and extended locked cases.
